"Monster Planet, Monster Truck!"
Monster Planet, Monster Truck is creative story about how a child's imagination can make the impossible, possible. While sitting in class learning about the solar system our lead character imagines his favorite toy monster truck transforming into a rocket ship. He and his magical monster truck are able to travel to his favorite planet Jupiter where they transform the planet to be able to sustain life. His magical monster truck is like a Swiss army knife with many different gizmos and gadgets that help him build all the key elements needed to support life. He goes on side trips to the asteroid belt and Jupiter's moon Europa to supply soil and water for his Jupiter world. He also introduces technology already used by astronauts today. While making the planet habitable is serious work our creative duo also just want to have some fun.
This book was inspired by my very creative son. He went through a phase, like many boys, obsessed with monster trucks. In his imagination his monster truck lived at his "monster truck house on Jupiter" where his monster truck could do ANYTHING! I started compiling all his little stories initially just as a keepsake, but was inspired to use my scientific background to turn his imagination into something realistic.
Target market
Children aged 4-11. Kids obsessed with monster trucks as well as elementary aged kids learning about the solar system, the elements needed to support life, creative thinking, engineering and more!

My name is JoAnne Swihart
I started my career as a scientist then turned entrepreneur. After having children I was inspired by them to write stories mirroring their incredible imaginations and common childhood struggles. As a children's book writer I strive to educate, inspire creativity, have fun and foster a love of reading.
